HTPC Frontend

I am looking for a front-end for my computer that can catalog all my movies/music. Are there any free programs out there?

The reason most cataloging is done online is so that you can grab the particulars (cover art, review, cast and crew, etc.) from somewhere else. For example, I wrote my own cataloging program that grabs the information from Amazon. If your HTPC has Internet access, I would either use one of the major DVD cataloging websites or something like DVD Profiler.

If it doesn't, then that's a lot more hassle. I did a Google search for "dvd cataloging software" and got a ton of results, so you might look at that. If you just want to store titles and don't care about it being sort of low-rent, you can always use a spreadsheet.

Im actually looking for something like the old myHTPC. I want a catalog program that I can click the specific film, and it will automatically play the file for me.

I'm using Meedio (what myHTPC evolved into, but you have to pay for it now) and it works pretty well for me since it's pretty customizable with plugins and such. I'll have to check out Windows XP Media 2005 too, since I've heard that is quite impressive and can do DVR/TV/HDTV, that Meedio currently doesn't support. Meedio has a free trial period if you're interested.
