Anybody have a Wireless Media Player?
I was at Best Buy last night and saw the D-Link Wireless Media Player for $200:
Buy.com has it at the much cheaper price of $160 and free shipping. Anywhere cheaper than that? I'm very interested in buying a wireless media player, but would like to hear some comments. I want to find something that plays a very broad range of file formats and is easy to use. What do you think of this one? |

Gateway and Oritron had DVD players with a wireless connectivity that could stream files off your PC. With those you also get a DVD player with it.

I don't have one. I got some leads in this thread, that might be useful to you, thanks to toq:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=380332 My main interest is streaming audio, and a majority of the stations I want to listen to use a RealPlayer format, .ra or .ram, that none of these products seem to play. The balance of the stations (30-40%?) use .mp3, or .wma (or variants) which are supported. Guess I'll settle for listening via computer for a while longer.

Forgot to mention, we have three at work. Two wireless and one wired, streaming DVD players (Gateway, a liteon, and the Kiss player). Even for video these things work pretty good.
You could even get an Xbox and mod it to do just about the same thing. |

Call around to some local video game stores or even computer repair places. There are a few around me that will put in a mod chip. |
