Looking for a Video Card
Can anyone recommend a good video card for me? It is mainly for computer games, like Call of Duty and other action games. I don't need some really expensive card, but I also don't want some piece of crap. Any suggestions?

I have the ATI Radeon 9600XT installed in my computer and very happy with the performance. In fact I'm playing Call of Duty and the graphics look great. Can't wait for Half-Life 2

MFRONE, what is your processor speed? The processor and video card need to "match" for best results. For example, a 9800XT paired with a 1GHz processor will not yield much improvement. |

I'm running a 256mb Radeon 9600 Pro.
Love it. Plays Call of Duty perfectly..though I haven't played in a few weeks. Cost like $140 7 months ago.

You can get a 128 MB 9800 Pro for under $200, now. Search for Radeon 9800 pro over at Pricegrabber.com
It's the best card out there for under $250. You can get a super version of it with 256 megs for around $300. Above that are the cutting edge cards that were just released, the ATI x800 and NVIDIA's equivalent, both for around $450. Very good cards, but very expensive. Which would be better a Radeon 9600 Pro 256 or a Radeon 9800 Pro 128? I currently have a Radeon 8500 64 and am looking for a suitable replacement.
