Strange CD Drive Behavior

I'm back on my old PC, running WinXP Home, since I don't want to deal with installing a new HD on my other one this close to finals. Anyway, it does a strange thing every time I put a CD in one of the drives. It keeps trying to find a scanner. I'm not sure if it's the scanner software itself that's trying to find it, or something built into Windows, but I know my other PC, also running WinXP Home, didn't do this. It's nothing harmful, but I just wonder why it keeps doing this.
