Win 98 help--not making new folders?

I recently re-installed Win98Se and now it seems i cant 'create a new folder' by right-clicking on the desktop or in a folder window.

Is there some option to turn this on? I could of SWORN i could do this before.

What exactly do you mean when you "can't 'create a new folder'"? Does this mean that option no longer exists or that you attempt to create one and it simply doesn't appear?

it dosnt appear when i right click on the desktop or in a folder window. Its weird. Im positive it USED to be an option. Im not on a windows machine right now so i cant explain what options are there but 'create new folder' or 'new>folder' isnt an option!

You said that you just reinstalled Windows 98SE. Did you also reinstall Internet Explorer 4? If so, check out the following web page and see if it applies to your situation.

No "New" on the right-click context menu

BTW, if this applies to you, I have no idea if upgrading to a newer version of Internet Explorer will also provide a solution.
