How far can I set the monitor away from the desktop

I want to use the company server 3 or 4 times a month to do some work, but it's very noisy and heavy to be moved and located in a very small space.I can use a cordless keyboard and mouse but is there any other way to use the flat panel monitor far from the server without moving the server to my table each time I want to use it. Using Dell Poweredge 1400SC with Windows NT server Japanese version

Put VNC on it. That way you can leave it where it is.

I have a 15 foot monitor cable, connected to the built in cable on the monitor, no loss of quality. not sure how far you could go before having a problem

Load Microsoft NetMeeting and enable Desktop Sharing for the server or use VNC. These are free products.
