internet explorer take a long time to start
Out of the blue, when i click on Internet explorer the hourglass goes away instantly and it takes about 30 seconds to launch.
The last thinks I did was macafee's free virus scan. Any Idea what can be wrong or how I can fix this? Thanks. |

Not to be too basic, but have you rebooted your machine recently? Every now and then my IE does weird stuff, but clears up with a reboot.
Apart from that, I don't have any specific suggestions, other than 'the usual' [run a spyware checker, run Windows Update, clear IE cache, maybe scandisk/defrag.] |

Either www.lavasoft.de for Ad-aware [Pro and Plus are not free, the other one is] or
http://security.kolla.de/ for Spybot...I actually use them both....Ad-aware went for quite a long time [4 months or so] with absolutely no updates, which caused a lot of people to lose confidence in them. And it's no guarantee that this will help your IE problem, but they're good things to have regardless. |
