Outlook Express Crashes Alot

I am using outlook's news reader ie outlook express, but it has started crashing alot when there are more than 100 new messages. Any ideas? My os is xp home and the version oe is 6. If not can anyone suggest a good cheap or free reader. I have 2 usegroup servers that I connect to one of which requires authenication. The authenication kinda takes mozilla's out of the picture as far as I can tell.

TIA

Don't use Micro$oft?

There's plenty of free newsgroup readers that are 1000% better than OE.

I don't read newsgroups - just download binaries, but check www.tucows.com

Easy fix, don't use outlook express. The only newsreader worse is AOL's news reader KEYWORD: NEWS.
I use Newsbin Pro for downloading binaries and Agent for reading and posting text.

Have you tried redownloading the list of newsgroups from your servers and resubscribing to each individual newsgroup in Outlook Express? If you still have problems, try the tips here:
