Woohooo... my friends got me a 54Mbps wireless router

My birthday was last week but I didn't get my gifts because it didn't arrive yet? Anyway, my friend called today saying the gift is ready to be pickup. Got home, open the package and found a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router . Now, I need to buy a wireless PC card and I'll be surfing wireless with my laptop

This is the first in I don't know how many years that they actually got something useful for me.

I'm real interested in getting your feedback about its speed and distance abilities.

Make sure you check feedback on the Net about which cards your router will play nice with and which ones it will not. It may place nice with all of them, who knows?

My D-Link wireless router doesn't like working with anything but D-Link cards, so I had to pick up one of those to replace my Lucent Gold. The WAP at work doesn't like my D-Link (and neither does my Red Hat partition for that matter) so I switch cards depending on where I am at with the laptop.

I just hooked up my girl friends house with the Linksys wireless G router and card. It's pretty sweet!
