Help with picking out a Motherboard?
Hey,
I am making a new computer and don't wanna spend a lot of money, so I was wondering what is the best motherboard for cheap. I wanna get like Athlon xp around 1700 or so 1.4-1.6 ghz? Any input would help ![]()

Uh... we'll need some more info than that.
What about on board sound, LAN, video? Plan to overclock?I'd say for an all in one the ASUS nforce chipset. They're like $70 at newegg. ECS if you want cheap and good performance. |

Don't mind Onboard stuff, probably not going to overclock.

Do you care if it has a VIA chipset? Are you going to buy new memory or reuse something (and if so what)? There are plenty to choose from but if you want to reuse PC100 or PC133 and need an ISA slot then it certainly narrows the field.
