XP & Unreal Tournament problems

it used to run great under win2k pro, but now, i get ridiculous amout of lag. that is, i shoot, move, etc, and a sec or two later, i can see the bullet/rocket shoot from where i was to where the guy i was aiming for was at. any help on this?

Weird, on my XP Pro system UT is as fast as it was on 98SE. Do you use the same display options?

i had it at the same settings. i reduced the settings thinking it would help but it doesn't. incl. sound settings.

also, it seems to get worse the longer i play (more than 1 round).
