Which motherboard????
I'm building a barebones system and I'm sturggling over which mother board to get, while the Abit KG7 is nice, it costs more.
The two I am looking at are the Epox 8KHA+ and the PC Chips 830/ECS K7S5A Each has it's drawbacks (Epox has a soft/hard boot issue), (PC Chips has a FSB issue). My question is does anybody here use either of these boards and could you tell me the pros and cons of your experiences? Thanks!

i've got the ecs board and i've had 0 problems with it running my 1.4 athlon.
i did however, bridge the l7 on the processor to bump the voltage to 1.85 instead of the standard 1.75 as this processor needs a bit of a goose. lots of people have reported problems for some reason with the ecs board...but i've had no problems at all and know lots of folks that are very happy with it. http:\\forum.ocworkbench.com has some good tips and info. it's been stable and very fast for me. and at 65 bucks, really hard to beat. just don't expect much from the onboard sound. the onboard lan works like a champ, though. my system: 1.4 athlon w/inexpensive hs/fan ecs k7s5a soundblaster live! mp3 visiontek geforce 2 gts-v agp creative 48x cd-rom 300 watt athlon aproved power supply. cranky.
