![]() has a slight choppiness to the video and was wonderig what the solution might be, i have an amd k6-2 500 mhs with 256 meg of ram and a 16 meg tnt graphics card. im hoping i wont need another card and if so what should i get? i heared that you can replace either the graphics card or the sound card with a dvd decoder? whats the info on that? my second problem is trying to record sound bytes from a disk, my software wont do it ![]() im using sound forge and wave studio and niether will record a sound from inside the system. Will i have to get another sound program to capture vid and sound? thanks. ~ |

Your system is really too slow for software decoding, you need a hardware DVD decoder card like the Hollywood Plus. It doesn't replace any of your cards, so you still nee your graphics and sound cards. I think it costs about $50 or so, not sure though, you'd have to look around to find a good price.

You might want to make sure that you have DMA enabled for your DVD-ROM first. But TCHJ may be right about your CPU speed and the hardware fix, I just don't know about the K6-2 500, but I do know you need over a PII 366.
