Uh oh. I guess nothing that bad can happen, right? I have all the cable stuff anyway and I don't think she's bright enough to think of doing anything sinister...

Well for me it would link right to my email so forget that. If you are at all worried, you can of course change your password at any time.

Yeah you've basically given your colleague free access to all apps/channels through your cable provider in addition to HBO on their devices.
I know your intent was to be nice so that she won't torrent the show, but then again, do you really want to give them free TV to what you're paying for?
But then again she may not be smart enough to figure that out.
I suggest if you don't want that, change your password after GOT season ends.

Google Play has an offer right now where if you sign up for HBO Now through them you get a free week trial and then 3 months for $30. (Essentially a month free.) New subscribers only.

HBO Go is being shut down. HBO Now will still be around and will be rebranded HBO.
So if you're "borrowing" a subscription. You're shit out of luck.

Eliminating my HBOGo app before they work out a deal with Roku for HBOMax would be irritating.

HBO Go will be officially dropped July 31st.
From the gist of it, they are now expecting HBO Go users to segue to HBO Max.
HBO Now or just HBO will still be the separate a la carte app.
So the big problem is that if your streaming device or smart TV doesn't support the HBO Max app, you're hosed.

Max is the newer update that has HBO, Warner Bros. movies and TV shows, Crunchyroll, CNN, DC, TNT, TBS, TCM and Cartoon Network, Studio Ghibli, Adult Swim content. It's basically HBO Go on steroids.
Go is being eliminated to avoid confusion because they want Go users who sign in with the cable and satellite credentials to now use Max. Max is also sold a la carte like HBO Now for those who don't have cable.
If you pay for HBO on your TV service, then there's a good chance you will have access to Max now.
Only problem is that HBO Max doesn't have a streaming deal with Roku and Amazon.

I thought some TV providers were also resisting allowing their HBO subscribers to transition to Max... is that not the case?

RIP
FYI, This app is officially dead tomorrow. No more borrowing HBO from your Mommy and Daddy or your buddy for those who don’t pay for HBO. Unless you have a device that has access to HBO Max and they have access as well.

What are you the HBO Police? You get a cut with each paid sub? They didn't care that people shared their HBO GO logins.
