Hulu picks up the streaming non-Showtime subscription rights to Homeland.

You can now watch season 1-4 without a Showtime subscription.

Hulu officially drops the limited free service with ads. It's officially a paid subscription service now.

Yahoo! will now provide limited free shows with ads, but 8 days after it airs.

Re: Hulu Plus -- News and Notable New additions

Not surprised, but then I haven't used their free service is ages.

This is what happens when Comcast and Time Warner hold a fairly sizeable share of your company.

Hulu Desktop on the computer was great, but they dropped support for that a while ago.

I just hope they don't drop the commercial-free option. I know Time Warner loves commercials.

Woohoo, nice. I just started watching it again last night as it turns out, so this works out well.

CW is planning to release new apps for Roku, ATV, FireTV, and Chromecast before the fall season starts. So the shows will all be available there (5 latest episodes).

But it still sucks. I watch at least 5-6 of those shows, and I love Hulu's commercial-free option. I doubt CW will offer a similar service.

Hulu will also be dropping all the Criterion content in a few months. These two loses are a huge hit to the service. I hope they pick up something good to make up for it.

OJ Made in America is now available on Hulu.

Watch it if you haven't seen it. Probably one of the best documentaries period.

They've also struck a deal with Netflix to put their shows up 8 days after a season ends.

The Criterion loss is huge in my opinion. I don't know what they can do to make up for it.

If the Criterion's are any good-wouldn't people already own them on Blu-ray/dvd?

The Criterion stuff doesn't bother me so much, but I do agree it's a huge blow.

The CW is what I am more concerned about since I watch all of the DC shows. Here is my question, is the CW Seed App on Xbox Live going to pick these up? Or is this going to be the part of some new paid app? Or am I just screwed (since I only stream through my Xbox) and will be forced to pick up Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow when they hit disc/digital? Just trying to understand.

Woah, that sucks. That was one of the main reasons I subscribed to Hulu. Any word on who will take over the CC catalog - if any?

I heard that Criterion is going to have their own paid service. They are partnering with TCM.

Last I checked the CW's free app is available on the Xbox. It's however not available on the Roku.

CW seed is a separate app.

I'm curious about the CW stuff too. i also watch all my DC shows on Hulu so this disturbs me. The CW app for XBOX is limited. they don't even have full episodes of the DC shows at this point so for my needs it's useless.

The way things are going I may have to give up on TV shows. There is no way I'm going to end up paying 15 different companies for their individual streaming services just so I can see all my shows. Fuck them.

Well on Xbox One, the CW and CW Seed App are combined...it's part of the logo when it comes up but there is only one App for CW. That's how I watch Whose Line. There is Arrow, Flash, LOT, etc to the right under a category called Shows, but none of them have any episodes currently (just featurettes). Hopefully that changes come the new fall season but I'm not holding my breath. BTW, speaking of DC and CW...the CW app does have the complete series of Birds of Prey as well as Constantine.
