Re: The VUDU Thread - News, Bargains & UV Codes
Blu-ray still beats it out for me. Digital is great for a quick fix or when I get too lazy. I will also agree that older television in digital looks better than dvds. But Blu-ray is still king (at least until I get a 4k set and a 4k player).

VUDU's end of the year sales. I think these start December 26th.

It's close enough in PQ for me. There was a time when I would have slapped myself silly for thinking that, but I don't care as much as I used to. Now I value space and convenience.

So they've cut out 720 HD? That really sucks, only having SD and HDX is particuarly bad for my POS smart TV without the processing power to handle VUDU in HD .
It has highlighted for me how inferior streaming can still look disc, even with a good connection. So that's in perspective.

What if my TV is only 720p?
HDX streams in up to 1080p. So if your TV is only 720p, you’ll stream in 720p. If you upgrade to a 1080p or higher TV in the future, all your HDX titles will stream in up to 1080p.
Will titles with “HD only” restrictions on desktops and laptops stream in HDX?
Desktop and laptop restrictions are device dependent. So any titles with streaming restrictions will stream in their maximum allowed resolution, either 480p for SD or up to 720p.

Btw, I figured I would cross post but the new VUDU app in Xbox One is awesome. It's no longer a complete piece of shat.
Features I saw personally last night that were different & better from the last version:
1. Filter collection and sort alphabetically or by genre, year, etc. Just like the one on the web.
2. Watchlist, have you ever watched 20 minutes of something and then forget about it like me? Well, the watchlist saves your wagon and of course you can delete and add other stuff to it too.
3. Checkmarks for the TV seasons you own rather than "You Own It", ten times better method.
4. Autoplay (with 10 second countdown) for TV Seasons on the next episode. Great for binge watchers. Of course you can back out as needed.
5. Overall, better quality of picture (at least it felt like it to me). Supposedly, 4k owners will be able to stream 4k too with the proper hardware.

Service is down, internet connection, system/TV issues, take your pick as to what it may be.
On a side note, My bedroom TV was updated and the FandangoNow widget was added. Shit layout though, but at least there's an alternative.

I sent a message to Vudu this morning about the code. Their response is below. Hopefully they will offer something similar to everyone (especially us east coasters who were asleep when the code was offered).
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out. That code has been maxed out but we should have an update for everyone soon.

They cut it as a purchasing option, but VUDU will still stream in 720p HD when necessary:

You know that Vudu credit for La La Land with participating movies is terrible. You have to go through Atom site and pay a processing fee. The fuck??
