Not exactly. Disney uses what's called Disney Movies Anywhere. They were late to the game because they didn't want to participate in UV, so a lot of their releases don't have digital copies. If you have a DMA account, it will show up in your Vudu, iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, and Google Play/YouTube once you link them to your DMA account. So redeeming in iTunes can get you a Vudu copy. I had a very old Disney digital copy in iTunes and it showed up in Vudu when I signed up for DMA. I just redeemed an iTunes Disney code which was supposed to expire in 2009, and it showed up in HDX in Vudu for me, for instance.

Also, this is reminding me that I can't get the Google plus account that has ALL of my YouTube stuff to link with my real G+ account so that I can use my name and keep my stuff, but that's a whole separate issue.

My SNL's daughter from 1st marriage came over one day. She was dropping off a blu-ray she brought for her mother to watch. I asked her what she did with the Digital HD codes. She said nothing the inserts a still in the blu-ray she brought. I told her she should redeem them or sale them. She signed up for a UV & vudu account & she's now hooked.

Why So Blu?

Carol is available through instant watch if you buy the Blu-ray via Walmart.com. I pre-ordered it last night and got the email 5 minutes after that it was ready to be viewed and there it was - in my VUDU queue.

It helps if you're already getting the Blu-ray, because there already is an option on VUDU to get it early - but doing it this way ensures you get the Blu-ray AND a second Digital HD code once it officially releases.

I noticed that with Zoolander, so that was nice to have before the blu was out. Too bad it doesn't work for Star Wars.

Disney does not do instawatch from what I have been reading. It also doesn't help that they're releasing the Digital HD version like 3-4 days before the BD? I'll wait, in that case.

No way in hell am I buying it in digital with that small window. Their loss I guess. Although they could care less since we're all buying it one way or another. But on the early Instawatch type stuff, I do tend to pre-order to get the digital copy on a title I like. Although Zoolander is the last time I wanted to do it.
