It's a chronic problem with DVD releases of shows too, so many never thought about home video releases and as a result, music licensing is so catastrophically expensive that some shows have had to forego releases altogether or release the shows without original music and piss off the fanbases. No one back then could've guess that home media would ever take to releasing TV.

According to that Reddit thread, Frasier will be taken down on 01/01/2014 too. This sucks since I'm in Season 3 right now. I wonder if they are going to take it down on Hulu+?

It sucks that a lot of those movies and TV shows are being taken down soon. However, realistically with current TV going on all year on broadcast and cable along with current movies, it's not realistic to make a dent in humongous Netflix instant queues.

Unless you really just don't watch anything except Netflix.

Wow, that's a lot of titles. Glad I just saw Street Fighter.

Did not even know that they had Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico and Species.... Still time to watch those. Don't really care about the rest.

I hope Netflix will get SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis back.

I watch Netflix, Hulu, HBO Go, and almost exclusively. I get my current tv shows on Hulu, I catch other series and movies on Netflix, and I watch movies and hbo series obviously on hbo go.

No cable and my little monitor tv doesnt have a tuner for ota tv.

Yeah. I'm realizing that is the nature of the beast for streaming services to be tied to rights and therefore, we might get or lose certain movies and shows. It just sucks when you are in a middle of a TV show and unfortunately for you, you are not done. As much as I want to sometime get away from physical media, sometimes I have no alternatives.

I'm using somebody elses account.

The Guilt Trip (Streisand and Rogen) is on Netflix now. It's not We're the Millers but at least it's fairly new and high profile.

It came out a year ago. Isn't that an unusually long turnaround time for a movie to hit Netflix streaming?

It's about standard for Theater -> Premium Channel time range. Generally only indies come out really fast, or movies with a special deal in place (ie: Avengers)

That used to be the case, but it seems that window has closed in quite a bit now that (usual) turnaround from theaters -> BD is only 3 or 4 months.

What's the typical Netflix window, then?

It's heavily company dependent. TWC Radius movies seem to show up within the 6 month range (Only God Forgives, Bachelorette, etc; ), documentaries seem to come out the fastest. I'd like to see some consistency to their release schedule.

Stargate is available On Netflix Brazil, Canada, and Mexico.

Atlantlis is on Ireland and UK.

Damn, that's a lot of stuff. I guess that's the dark side of streaming, they have to take stuff down because of legal issues and other reasons even if you weren't done with it. Obviously not everything is going to be available and the different streaming services are going to have different things, but that doesn't make it any less of a bummer for viewers.
