I laughed from start to finish when I watched this the other night, and was shocked that it had a 5.4 average on IMDB.

Most audiences don't really seem to get spoof humor unless it's tremendously broad. They Came Together was basically an exaggerated normal rom com (until later on at least) and it seems to fly right over their head.

I noticed that the description in Netflix even calls it a "semi-spoof."

Watched They Came Together last night and super enjoyed it. My wife didn't like it very much. I think she found it funny but felt it overstayed its welcome.

I however found it hilarious.

I just now finished watching Starry Eyes. Going in it had an interesting premise, but it didn't play out how I expected. There were a few gross moments, but it wasn't scary. (And Satanic cult movies usually freak me out.) It wasn't terrible, but it was a bit of a letdown. Not as much as The Babadook, though, which was very overhyped.

The highly acclaimed, 2014 Palm d'Or winner Winter Sleep has been added. 88% on rottentomatoes, 8.4 on imdb, it's a 3hr 16minute Turkish drama set in a remote hotel. It was released yesterday on DVD/Blu in the US.

S2 of Brooklyn 99 has been added to Netflix Canada. That was quick considering that the season finale aired yesterday. US viewers can watch it on Hulu with commercials.

Wow, that's fast! Less than a month after the season finale.

I wish they'd do that with more shows. Gives you time to catch up over the summer and be ready for the fall premieres.

For Brooklyn 99 here in Canada, it was a day after its Season 2 Finale. I have no reason to buy DVD sets, if they keep doing that.

Re: The OFFICIAL Noteworthy New Arrivals to Netflix Thread

Netflix has picked up a Christmas TV special directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Bill Murray

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/f46ivuCahK4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

In addition to Murray, the star-studded cast of the special, which Coppola announced last fall, includes George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, famous maître d’Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones and Miley Cyrus.

Written by Sofia Coppola, Bill Murray and Mitch Glazer and directed by Sofia Coppola, A Very Murray Christmas is described as an homage to the classic variety show featuring Bill Murray playing himself, as he worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a terrible snow storm in New York City. Through luck and perseverance, guests arrive at the Carlyle hotel to help him; dancing and singing in holiday spirit.
