I received an Amazon GC for christmas last week. I spent nearly all of it on one order, which was not to ship for a week. The next day, I realized that I also wanted a book, so I wanted to combine it to my order to save on shipping. Amazon's help section told me to buy the new book separately and then combine it.

When I bought the book and went to the combination page, it told me that the orders couldn't be combined because they used a GC. I immediately wrote to them, telling them to combine the orders or cancel the book. Nearly a week went by (Christmas business, I imagine), and then I got an email from them saying that they couldn't combine, and that the individual book had already shipped, so they couldn't cancel.

I wrote back, telling them to check the time/date stamp of my email. Today they got back to me and told me that I have been reimbursed for the shipping cost for the individual book, even though I had already received it. So I am a happy camper.

Sorry if this story was boring, but I think that good customer service should be publicly acknowledged. I don't think Buy.com would have been that attentive.

Woo-hoo! $1.99!

Amazon really is the best when it comes to customer service, IMO.

Yeah, Amazon.com was fairly quick to send me a replacement for a recent error.

I ordered "The Usual Suspects" on DVD, and got "Princess Bride" on VHS. I can see where they'd mistake one for the other...not.

You know for all the horror stories I hear about Amazon, I've never had any problems with them at all.

Same here. I've spent soooo much money at Amazon and I've only had one screw-up (didn't get the dvd)and they fixed it right away.
