So there are really only 6 states left. I guess I'm lucky for now!

Arkansas
Hawaii
Idaho
Maine
New Mexico
Oklahoma

No state sales tax:
Alaska
Delaware
Montana
New Hampshire
Oregon
They were supposed to start collecting sales tax in Oklahoma March 1. I haven't ordered anything recently so I don't know if they are actually doing it. What sucks is that OK has really high sales tax: 9% if you include the state, county and city. I still have a gift card balance on there, which means I effectively lost 9% on the deal. Like some other states, OK residents were supposed to be paying a Use Tax on anything purchased online but it was completely unenforceable.

It's easy to find out without placing/starting a order. Just look at the "new from" price link of a product. Amazon will also be listed and if they're charging ST it'll be shown as part of their price. Why they don't put that on the item page is anyone's guess but at least you can see it there without having to go through the order process to find out how much will be charged.

Placed an order and was charged tax so they are enforcing it now in Oklahoma.

Re: Amazon sales tax discussion

Well, the free ride is over. As of today, Amazon is collecting sales tax in all states that have sales tax:

Re: Amazon sales tax discussion

I'm glad I live in one of the few states where the citizens are smart enough to vote no on sales tax.
