Amazon:Perpetual, Shipping Soon?

I ordered an item from Amazon on Sunday 5/1. Sunday evening I check the order status and it says "Shipping Soon". As of 5/5 10:45 pm It still says the same thing. I have placed many orders through them over the years and I can not recall anything like this. Before when I get "shipping Soon" I get an email the same day or next saying it has shipped. Anyone ever experience this? And it is a sold and shipped by Amazon item.

Funny, I had the same thing happen. The item sat in "sent to shipping" for several days. I called today and magically I was told it was scheduled to ship this afternoon, which it supposedly did.

Same here. Ordered a Kindle on the 1st and got stuck in shipping soon. I sent an e-mail telling them ship it or cancel.....they shipped.

happened to me a month ago when i bought an external hard drive. couldn't cancel the order 30 minutes after i ordered it but it sat waiting to ship for 2 days.

i bet its going to be shipped by one of their crappy delivery companies instead of UPS or fedex and the wait is to get it picked up.

Yeah, it used to be easy to cancel orders, I think they changed something a little before Christmas '10. Lasership has been fine for me.

I got a shipping email this afternoon. It shipped by UPS with a delivery date 5/9. Never had one take this long in "shipping Soon". Kind of like they did not want me to have the chance to cancel.
