People seemed to be getting their stuff during the recent sale really quick. Twilight Zone was at a really nice price.

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

I got an email with a $10 off code from them the other day. I used it on Sunday. Let's see how long it will take. The Blu-ray is in stock.

Edit: received shipping notification already

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

The problem is that DDD used to be the lowest price no matter what DVD you wanted. I'd rather deal with long shipping times knowing I got the best price. Now, the prices just seem high across the board.

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

This is true. I remember a day when I would just check DD or wait for one of their great sales of the past and just buy without doing much comparison shopping. Those days are gone. However, I think some of that has to do with resellers like Amazon getting smarter and having more competitive deals then back then. Now my first choice is Amazon due to the better service, but I feel comfortable to still do a DD purchase from time to time when the deal is right. I'm happy with the TZ B1G1 deal.

DD doesn't even try any more though. Inception BD is $32. On Amazon it's $21.50.

I unsubscribed from DDD's emails that I've been getting for who knows how long.

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

I did place an order on a couple of Sony MOD titles they had on sale recently, and just got my order in today, about two weeks since I ordered. Not terrible there, so at least some aspects of DDD seem to be getting back on track.

On the other hand, trying to put in an order today on their website and the going through the series of checkout screens (all six of them - WTF!), the website hangs up and lags something fierce. And I'm on VERY high-speed connection. Trying to use their (poorly designed) website has been a pain for a couple of years now. I often seem to get some kind of time-out or error during checkout that makes me wonder whether my order was completed correctly.

IMO, they still have faults that will keep them lower on my list for online retailers.

Are those $10 off codes unique? Anyone care to share theirs? My DD emails have been going to my spam folder for years.

I ordered a couple of items from their Mill Creek sale. Got one in just a few days, the other a week and a half later. Decent performance on shipping. Of course, many of the "deals" still aren't deals.

That's their new motto "Packages never arrive, but unwanted email... on time every time. Free shipping on all orders over 45 dollars"

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

I've been buying from deepdiscount.com since 2003 or 2004 spending Thousands of Dollars. The other night i did a order but when it come to confirm it and check the item it all went buggy and i lost it.I checked my email and my order status thinking it never went through as it wasn't listed. I re ordered the items i wanted again but instead changed 2 items as one item was now out of stock and the other not available no more. The order was 20 minutes later as i was looking for the items again.

I then notice i had 2 open orders and wrote to cancel the second order. They replied with a message saying We apologize for the inconvenience but unfortunately your order is processing and cannot be canceled at this time.

I'm not certain what they mean on this will it be canceled later anyone have a idea here as I'm from overseas..

I think it means they are going to ship it to you whether you want it or not.

Anybody else having a problem where anything you put in your shopping cart suddenly disappears as soon as you change screens?

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

So does DDD still suck? Or should I just order it from Amazon for $4 more plus shipping and be done with it?

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

As long as it's in stock, you should be alright. I placed an order last month with free shipping and I had the package in my hands 3 days later.

Oh no i received the order i didn't want today and the order i wanted a few days before.I'm not sure what going on here i received a shipping order on the first one with the charge in email but nothing on this second order i tried to cancel.

I'm not sure if I'm suppose to return it.The 2 orders have a packing slip but not a receipt with the order price like they previously did before?.

I'm not going to be happy if i have been charged for the order on my card.I don't usually see my credit statement once they send it once a month by mail.Their will i see where all transactions have gone to.

I probably have to go to my bank and ask for a statement on how much is available and view all the online purchases from other like ebay etc too find out if i been charged.

This isn't very good practice to treat long time customers and not be able to fix it if charged for something when the website hangs up and just went blank. The difficult part is sending a message to them that they understand.

Re: Is Deep Discount DVD still reliable?

Did an order yesterday and it shipped this morning. They work fine for me although I don't order enough from them and was surprised to see I couldn't get free shipping anymore.
