How to quit getting emails from Gamestop and Amazon?

Over the years I've been getting emails from Gamestop and Amazon. Both are the advertisement sort. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough but I can't see a way other than blocking their email addresses to quit getting the advertisement emails from them. Does anyone know of a way to stop these emails?

To clarify which kind of Amazon emails I'm getting, they're the recommendation ones. "You bough such and such, we recommend you buy this"

I still want to get email from Amazon confirming my orders and when they ship out, but I don't want the recommendation emails.

For Amazon, go to your account page. In the Settings section under "E-mail from Amazon" click "E-mail Preferences & Notifications" and/or "Amazon Delivers E-mail Subscriptions" and you should be able to figure it out from there.

Same with Gamestop or any other company pretty much. Log in to your account, go to the various account setting pages, and check/uncheck what emails you want.
