There wasn't a deal to be found in the store I went to. (43rd St Gainesville FL) All of the new generation games were gone, as were all movies that were released in the last 3-4 months. No HDs or BDs of course. Everything was 20% off, and the 'original' prices were 14.99 for more recent releases and 11.99 for everything else. The strange thing was one HV that wasn't closing had their used discs B2G2 which actually made them cheaper.

There were three other people in the store and they all thought they'd stumbled onto something great. Each person had 5 or 6 DVDs. I wanted to announce that they could get most of the discs they were buying cheaper on line or at Walmart.

The one closing in Fresno, off of Kings Canyon had nothing but crap left. The only new stuff they had left from the last 3 to 4 months was they had a complete set of Heroes left over. But even at $11.99 for each disc, your still better off getting the whole set at Best Buy. The store looked like it was gutted. One of the girls did say that there were more Hollywood Videos that were going to close, but that they had to get the Movie Gallery stores closed first.

Went to 2 different stores in Austin TX that were closing and there was not a deal to be had. Most PVD's were $12 and new discs were $15-20. Whats even worse is that the stores in this area that aren't closing are offering B2G2 PVD's making for a better deal than the clearance stores.

A store in New York here had Knocked up Brand new at $11.99 It was technically a "rental" sale even though they were never rented.

Hollywood Video in Cerritos and Buena Park, CA are also closing down. Cerritos is closing due to lease issues though.

Mehhh.....nothing fantastic in their selection. I picked up a few foreign titles....the rest of their stuff you can get brand new at Best Buy or Circuit City for about the same price or a little more.

I got Supercop 2, Supercop (both the old Disney versions), Eat, Drink, Man, Woman and Chungking Express for about $32 bucks including tax.

I already own the IVL Supercop, but I got a kick out of listening to the rap music score on the Disney version and hearing Jackie Chan called "Kevin."

Everything is charged per disc, so if you want to buy House Season 3, they will ring them up as $11.99 per disc which is a ripoff.

So far in the Dallas area I've found that 10620 E Northwest Hwy (NW HWY @ Plano Rd) is closing and the Plano store near Parker @ Custer is closing. The other NW Hwy location is not, nor is the RL Thornton @ Buckner.

The Tucson, AZ location at 2160 E Broadway Blvd is closing.
The "sale" is pretty much a joke. How can you take a liquidation sale seriously when you see a battered copy of "Dunston Checks In" for 8 bucks.
Having said that I picked up the CC "Do the Right Thing." I might check it out again in a week or so to see if there are better deals to be had.

Also in Dallas the location at Skillman and Royal is closing. So far I've picked up:

Dr Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine Midnite Movies
Halloween Extended TV Edition
Autumn Sonata Criterion
...And the Ship Sails On Criterion
I Bury the Living Midnite Movies

all for $7.49 each. Dr Goldfoot has been my number one most wanted disc for months now and what a way to get it! Looks unplayed!

HV at MLK & Euclid - the selection was poor and the prices on the high side. Bothered me also that about half the covers suffered from UV / sunlight fading. For me, that's usually no sale

I thought about checking the Movie Gallery at 42nd & University but haven't made it over there yet.

I'm surprised at the people complaining about them charging $7.00 for "battered" dvd's. I got Barfly, 1984, Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down and Spanish Prisoner for under 30 bucks.
