He did say 54 orders - actually 55 if I remember correct (one was not sent).

You're right. He said he'd owe $1600 at the B1G1 prices. If there were 54 orders that works out to about $30/set.

I'm not really surprised that Amazon would call him if they are out $1600. I'm sure getting a phone call would spur a lot of people to send the sets back.

Keeping in mind that he has been having an on-going email conversation with Amazon about his orders and that he had spoken to them on the phone on the 28th.

It's not like they called him out of the blue. They were just following up on his previous conversation with them.

Normally, I abhor grammer nazis, but that knucklehead come into a thread that was created specifically for the people involved in this fiasco so they didn't have to deal with the "morals patrol".

If he is gonna take potshots at people he should probably make sure all of HIS ducks are in a row.

The grammar nazis bother me less than the "how old are you?" insulters.

Regardless, could we get this conversation back on topic?

Also, were there even 108 different sets available during the promotion?

Care to post a pic of your booty?

Oh, and I'm 23 btw.

And how many potshots have been taken at those who thought this was shady,
yet at the wishes of the thread stayed out of the discussion? Might want to go
back and reread the posts to find the answer if it isn't already obvious.

So, has anyone that placed orders with this heard ANYTHING from Amazon at all in the last week or so? It's now been 8 days after they said they were going to charge people. So far nobody has said a word about Amazon contacting or charging them.

Still nothing for me. Nothing pending on my MasterCard and the last Amazon email was received on January 26.

I have not heard anything from Amazon since the last email saying my credit card would get charged February 2 if I didn't return the DVDs. I assume they are not going to do anything since there hasn't been any further correspondence, and I didn't place a large volume of orders.

Nothing here. As I said a couple of pages ago, I don't think they are going to do anything.

nothing happening here which I'm not really that surprised about. It appears as if it was some "bullying" tactic attempted by Amazon that might have worked on some.

I guess it's a matter of personal choice. Lots of DVDs of shows likely never to be watched vs. some measure of self-respect.

I'll take the latter, but that's just me.

I guess you missed Geoff's reminder about personal attacks and trolling about 10 or 11 replies ago. I'd take him seriously as he's the founder of DVDtalk.

Have fun with that. I'm sure xNightFallx won't mind, since he can have both.

It was Amazon's mistake. Their fault, not his.

Well I got charged this morning. $29.99, I ordered Seasons 3 & 4 of NewsRadio. So at least they just charged me for 1 set and not both.

I'm surprised that they're going after such a small order as this one. This does not bode well for those who thought they could slip under the threshold of a small loss to Amazon. It appears that Amazon is setting a tolerance of zero.

I was just charged for my orders. But I payed with my Paypal debit/credit card, and I see Paypal instantly denied all the charges.

And I had money in there too...

No emails from Amazon either.

If they're charging small orders, then they might be knocking on xNightfallx's door soon. I'm sure that account is a bright spot on their radar. This whole scenario could get interesting.
