That actually hasn't happened to me, although somehting simi9lar has a few times.

I always mail my movies back on Friday or Saturday for the turn around which should include the new releases the following week.

But I've also found that even if the Monday is a holiday they still receive my DVD's and on occassion still ship mine. Be interseting to see what happens tomorrow since it's Presidents Day and there shouldn't be any mail.

Actually the customer service guy I talk to was very upfront, he told me that the people who pay 4.99 for 2 movies a month get priority over anyone else, cause they are making 2.50 profit on each rental. For people like you and me who turn over DVD's more than $2.50 per DVD, they are not making as much profit.

How do you figure they are making a $2.50 profit per movie? I'm not sure what the metered mail cost is for the discs, but it's probably a dollar there and back. So, that's $2 for two movies. Then, that's not including the cost of the actual movie.

Michael Clayton is queued up for me to ship. That's encouraging.

I returned 2 movies on Friday and had Michael Clayton and In the Valley of Elah at 1-2 in my Queue. I was fully expecting them to get ready to be shipped today. However, Netflix skipped those 2 along with my 3rd movie Rendition and jumped to my 4th and 5th selection Lust, Caution and Chaos instead.

Has anyone ever experienced this? The movie is not even out yet and they already skipped my first 3 movies for my 4th and 5th selections.

WB/New Line movies seem to be in short supply or something.
I have had a hell of a time getting many WB titles lately.

That happens to me pretty often. I've gotten used to it by now.

Netflix and Blockbuster did both receive and ship movies today even though it was a holiday, lol.

I had movies ship on Monday when it was MLK day a month ago but today, nothing shipped despite me sending back two on Saturday.

Kinda annoying since this is a couple weeks in a row now that I've done that and missed out on a new release.

Yeah, strangely they claimed to have shipped a new DVD to me on Monday (President's Day), which couldn't have happened. They did adjust the expected date of receipt by an extra day so it appears that they are aware of the mail holiday. This is the one thing about Netflix that irks me - their consistent misrepresentation of shipping dates, received dates, etc. I know they throttle, they know I know they throttle, why beat around the bush about it?

The post office may have a few employees working on holidays. The Friday before Veterans Day the person who picks up the mail from my place of work left a note saying there would be a 3pm pickup on Monday even though it was a holiday. I mailed a DVD back to Netflix from work that Monday and they received it Tuesday.

I haven't received a single Blu-Ray in months, yet the very day of Toshiba's announcement Netflix sends me two.

Ok, they shipped out Michael Clayton yesterday, and I got it today. Nice to know that even though it's a government holiday, the USPS is working!

Yep I had 3 movies that shipped out yesterday and I got them all today. I had a similar good experience with MLK day last month. Very cool that even thought those lazy people at the post office don't bring me my mail Netflix at least ships me my movies.
Big thumbs up to you Netflix. Now if I only could get shipped a copy of The assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford....

Same situation for me. I had titles ship yesterday and they all arrived today. One arrived cracked pretty much in half though.

As long as I've had NF they have always shipped on holidays. BB did this too.

Hmmm, this was the first time a movie took more than a day to arrive. It shipped Monday, nothing Tuesday....oh well.

This week I had two being shipped from a different location. Last week was the same thing. Those usually take 3-4 days to arrive.

OK I have not received a new release in 3 weeks. Looks like I will have to pay more & go back to BB total access...

I've been with netflix since Jan 2001 with a few breaks in between and this is the first time I can remember (not including the early days) having dvd's shipped from different distribution centers. In the last few weeks, I've had 2 movies shipped from different centers. Both were way down on my list in the 15-20 range. The most recent was 17 in my queue and is shipping from Chicago, IL (I live in Northern California). I called customer service and the guy just made excuse after excuse with no real resolution. If this is the way netflix is headed again, I may have to switch to BB online until they can get it straight.

I normally receive the next DVD in my queue on Saturday when I return a DVD on the previous Thursday. I had a double whammy due to Presidents' Day on Monday. I didn't get my new DVDs until the Tuesday instead of the Saturday because my postal carrier probably wanted to go on vacation early. She delivered the mail early Saturday morning without the DVDs instead of the normal delivery time in the afternoon.

I can't complain about the speed or timeliness of Netflix in shipping updates on their website since they've been pretty accurate.

I called again because they shipped a title that was low on my list from Chicago. They gave me a bonus Blu-Ray again and this time it was number #1 on my list. I may memorize this number

In the past 3 days, I've gotten two broken discs. Anyone else with similar issues?

Yes, actually. I've received two cracked Blu-rays in a row: Ratatouille and literally just popped in Across the Universe and it won't play. It's especially irritating finally receiving Ratatouille after being on the "Long Wait" status since it's release only to have it fuck up. Fortunately the replacement arrived within a couple of days.
