Holy crap... (SWEET purchases from Gamestop)
I was in town today and decided to stop by Gamestop and check out their used DVDs. As soon as I walked in I saw the LOTR: FOTR EE sitting on top and took a look at it. I almost fell over when I saw the price tag..... $10.99!!!! I knew this was too good to be true so I asked to see the discs to see if they were in acceptable condition. He showed them to me and they were in pristine condition, not even a single fingerprint. I immediately said I'd take it but chose to look around for more DVD deals too. Sure enough, I saw the Armageddon Criterion on the shelf. Took a look at the price tag, $9.99!!!! The discs had a few fingerprints on them but nothing a quick rub on the shirt didn't fix These are definitely the best DVD deals I've ever found. The funny thing is I almost bought the FOTR EE at Walmart for $35 today too
edit: BTW does the first pressing of Armageddon mean anything? I know it does with the Seven Samurai Criterion, just curious

You suck!
Every time I stop at Gamestop in the mall and take a look at their used DVDs, it's always nothing but the same ones that are in the Wal-Mart $5.88 bin.

gamestop has been good to me as well....just recently picked up spiderman deluxe, ninja scroll 10th, and fear and loathing criterion. Altogether was $25 or so as I took advantage of their B2G1 free deal

I bought Dilbert The Complete Series at Gamestop a few weeks ago for about $12 or so, which is a great deal in my eyes. They have great deals every now and then.

do all gamestops sell a small portion of used DVDs? or is more of a YMMV thing?

I checked the two Gamestops near me, and their prices were pretty high - they had Underworld UR SE for $14.99, and the case was a little beat up.
I got The Mummy UE a couple months back for $9.29 + $2.49 S/H from Amazon marketplace - as well as The Mummy Returns Ws CE for $4.99 + $2.49 - both in mint condtition. There are some nice deals there at times.
EB Games' prices were also high but they had a B2G1 sale and a couple decent discs cheap - I walked out with Shaft (2000), Falling Down and Blown Away (Jeff Bridges one) for $12 + tax. I wanted Get Shorty but it was scratched.
CD Warehouse also had generally high used prices, but I snagged what I am pretty sure was a misprice - Armageddon CC for $12.99 (no slipcover). They had The Rock CC but it was $19.99 and not in great shape. The guy working there told me the same guy had sold them all the CC's - apparently there had been a Robocop which sold quickly.
I still have gotten my best deals at pawn shops.
T2 Extreme (mint) $5.
Tombstone Vista (mint) $7.
Evil Dead SCE (Elite) $3.
LOTR TTT EE (mint but no booklet) $10.
Blade II Platinum (mint) $6.
Near Dark 2-disc SE (some case wear, discs perfect) $6.
What is TCM?

I wish I had found some great stuff like some of the posters above, but this one gamestop 20 miles or so away didn't have good stuff.

nice deals!
yea, out gamestop and EB normally has a really nice selection of used games and movies.. especially if I go to the ones in Auburn, because its a college town.. You can always find the best deals on these things in a college town, because the students get all this stuff and then sell it for beer money
