Any major store that lets you return without a receipt?

I have a completely sealed copy of Windows XP Pro Upgrade but I dont have a receipt for it.

Does anyone know of any store (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, ect) that will allow you to return the software (unopened) without a receipt? I dont need cash back, a store credit would be fine. Thanks!

Here is a very popular thread for returns without receipts (don't know about software, though)

You should have returned it last month when stores are more lenient with after Christmas returns w/o receipt.

I know... I think I'm going to go try Walmart today, providing that they even carry it in store.

You could try Office Depot. They used to be very lenient, but since last year they've asked to track your Drivers' License number now just like Walmart.

You can try Staples as well. I did it once last year (doing an even exchange) and they only asked for my name and address (no driver license).

Borders seems pretty good with stuff like that. You may want to check them out or give them a call.

Call ahead, talk to a manager and let him/her know when you will be there for the exchange if they say it's okay. But it's basically hit or miss.
