How reliable is Playcentric

I can get Magnolia from them, shipped, new, for $15.49. The only problem is that I have never heard of them. They have some great deals that are mentioned in the Bargain forum, including the $4 off first three DVD purchases deal.

My question is - Do they suck? I mean I'm new here, so tell me what's up with this place. If I order Magnolia from them, will I get it, will it be new, and will it be relatively soon if I just go standard shipping?

Welcome to the forum! We have an entire forum dedicated to online and B&M stores. Moving your thread to Store Forum... in addition, I'd suggest doing a search for past threads on the store.

I did do a search on Playcentric. I can't find anything.

Has anyone used it?

I used to use them all the time when I first started buying DVDs. It took a long time to get their packages. You can always e-mail customer service and ask if your order was shipped (they may not have Magnolia in stock).

I have ordered 4 disks from them listed as in stock. Yet, I received only one of the disks I had ordered. One was an Ultimate version which came as a standard copy.

What a pain in the bum.

I ordered a couple of times and never had any problems. Got my discs in about 3-4 days.

I've never had a problem with them. It takes awhile to receive the items because the store is out of Canada. I always look to them or DeepDiscountDVD for my online purchases.

If you have a high tolerance for...

1. cancellations (items that were in-stock when you ordered getting automatically cancelled from your order) and

2. adversarial customer service communications (it goes like this- we screwed up, too bad for you, but we won't do anything to help)

...in exchange for low prices, I would say go for it. I've placed over 10 orders there but I'm not sure I can take it anymore.

PS On orders where there are no problems they are fine. But when there are problems, Playcentric inevitably finds ways to make things worse.
