My BTTF Order at eCampus Cancelled

I got the below email a little while ago. Never even got the order confirmation. What is confusing is they say they gave me an in-store credit, but they say they didn't charge my credit card.

Thank you for choosing ecampus.com. We apologize that we do not have in
stock nor can we locate a supplier for the following items:

Order Number: 3741025

Shipment Number: 2763733

UPC: 025192212123
Item Name: Back to the Future: The Complete Trilogy...
Price: $19.99
Quantity: 1

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We have applied an In-Store
Credit to your account information. This credit is related to the email
address that was associated with this order. You will be able to apply this
credit during the checkout process on the next order you place with
ecampus.com. This credit will expire on March 31st 2003

Your credit card was not charged, as it is company policy to do so only
after an order has shipped. If you have any questions, please contact our
mailto:[email protected]
1.877.322.6787. Be sure to reference your order number with any inquiries.

Damn, ecampus.com has done it again. I tried adding something to my cart to check what the credit ecampus gave me was for.....there is no credit. I didn't get one. No in-store credit

Got my cancellation notice for the (ahem) single copy of the single item I ordered, and sent this response to their customer service email address:
--
"Thank you for choosing ecampus.com. We apologize that we do not have in stock nor can we locate a supplier for the following items:

Order Number: 3741527
Shipment Number: 2764242
UPC: 014381464429
Item Name: Twilight Zone: Collection 5

Sorry, I don't understand - you looked for a supplier for a whole 90 minutes before cancelling the order? Besides, your site says it IS in stock, even now. If I were to place another order for it right now, I bet the order would have no problem going through.

I see it as BAD customer service to LIE about an order. If you mean there was a pricing mistake, just say there was a pricing mistake. "We do not have in stock..." etc is just disrespectful. Respect your customers by being honest, and your customers will respect you. Even when you make mistakes."

---
Incidentally, I'm not angry at all, I fully expected it as most of us did.

Read the fine print on your cancellation email from ecampus

If you are like me and just started to throw this email away.....

If you look, they said they are sorry blah blah blah....but they put a $5 coupon when you check out. Not bad!

Yep, that is what mine was. I may send a similar email, like shill did and see if they can't bring that up to $10. Then I can order BTTF and with shipping it will be $32 and change.

But shill is right. They really suck, making up BS about unable to find a supplier, or they could not get authorization on the CC. Just admit you f$cked up and can't honor the $19.99 price.

Hmmm, reminds me of how J&R handled their misprice of The Ring.

The thread about the ecampus debacle was shut down for getting too nasty.......so I'll be calm on this one. As I stated on that one, it's not the cancelling that annoys me, it's the constant lying from ecampus. "Not having something in stock" or others got an e-mail that said they couldn't "obtain credit card authorization".

Give me a break, that is pure BS

I'll see that and raise you...

I used a previous $10 credit on my order (which was cancelled). Now, no new credit... and the system ate my previous $10 one.

Agreed. Why lie to us? It was a pricing mistake. Just say that.

I was too late to get on this deal so I shouldn't complain but watching all these orders get cancel with a lame excuse is boiling me up. J&R and now Ecampus.

At least Mediaplay had the B***S(sounds like all) to go through with their pricing error.

I got one of those emails from them saying my card was rejected for my first order, but my second order (with the same card) has been charged on my card (I just checked on my account) and under my account on ecampus, it says the status of my items is HOL. I am guessing that it is on hold right now because they dont have a definition for HOL. But my guess is that the charge will go away soon and they they misspelled HOL, and meant to put SOL.

What Mediaplay pricing error are we talking about. Everyone points to the South Park 9.99, but it was not an error. It was abused online, but the store had printed signs and and ads for the deal.

They were not the least bit worried about the price until people started ordering 30 copies at a time off the website. They even tried to keep up with the people ordering tons of copies despite the website acting up because of overloads.

Mediaplay has some absurd looking deals on a regular basis if you shop there. If it is something else I missed (possible) I apologize for my rant.

I feel that MediaPlay should not even be compared to ecampus which is horrible about mispricing items and then telling lies. J&R, I know is a reputable dealer I have done business with, but sounds like they might be having issues now.

There must be a legal reason why they don't cop to the pricing error. Maybe they would set themselves up for a class action lawsuit or something if they say they won't deliver at the misprice.

So is there a deal left there to use the $5 credit on?

Exactamundo. Fine, ecampus, you f'd up, admit it! Don't blantantly lie and say that you can't find a supplier for Back to the Future (or any of the others), that's inconceivable.

I got my $5 coupon, but is there anything worth getting?
