Why is it that CEO's of big companies (including the one I work for) feel it necessary to sign their first name only?

I have always had good experiences with Amazon, but that name signing thing is bothersome.

Because as far as they are concerned you should look at them like their your best friend on earth since they feed and cloth your family.

And cause it makes them feel like they deserve to have friends after the lay-offs to increase their stock option value.
