Quick Amazon Question
I havent ordered from Amazon in a while what I want to do is order the Bond DVD set, but have it not ship until I can look over the B&M deals and prices. This is what I had in mind, do you think it will work?
Order Bond Set and something like Back to the Future Set (Ships December) on one order with request to wait until order is complete before shipping. Then after I'm ready for the Bond Set to ship because B&Ms have a hard time beating online prices I can just cancel the Back to the Future part of my order and then it will ship. I should still be able to lock in the savings of a preorder copy of Bond this way?
Will this work?

In theory... Yes.
In all actuality... probably not.
Why? I remember last year during the holidays, Amazon (and alot of other on-line retailers) were breaking up orders with no extra shipping charges just to keep from getting over burdened with orders that sit until the last item is made available. They reserve the right to split up an order and send it, applying the coupon to the first item and then charging the remainder of the order as they ship.
Personally, I wouldn't do it.

What about refusing shipment when it arrives? It would go back to Amazon (with no extra postage) and get credited back to your account, right? The Bond collection has free shipping and there is no shipping cost to worry about refunding.

All those would work but why go through the hassle?
If you check the DVD Bargains forum, you'll see Best Buy and Circuit City prices posted a week or 2 in advance. So go ahead and place a pre-order now, and when someone posts BB prices for the week when Bond comes out you can check the price there and if you think it would be easier to go to the B&M, just cancel the preorder (its really easy with amazon). Or just keep the online order.
