Anybody order War of the Roses from DDD?

I preordered War of the Roses from DDD along with Poseidon Adventure. They both have release dates of 12/18. They shipped out Poseidon Adventure last week, but not WOTR. Anybody else have the same problem?

I have been trying to get DeepDiscountDVD to remedy this problem.

They have the release date for War of the Roses listed on their site as 2/19/02. I figured it was just an error when I ordered it, and they'd correct it. before street date.

However, I am now worried because they haven't shipped it out yet, and they still show the release date wrong!

Every other web site still shows this as streeting tomorrow, 12/18, so I'm pretty sure DDD has the wrong info on this.

I emailed them about it, never heard back, so I called this morning. The guy on the phone wasn't very helpful.

He just said "If we get it in before February, we'll send it to you."

What I really needed him to do was alert their buyers and make sure their order is placed and that they receive the product soon.

I'm not sure if I should now cancel my order and place it elsewhere so I'll at least get this movie in 2001.

That's probably what I'll do, considering that it doesn't sound like they are in a hurry to remedy the problem.

Costco will probably have it for the same price.

Do you think Costco will carry this? it's not listed on their site, although sometimes they have surprises at the store (ala Almost Famous: Director's Cut).

I know they are hit & miss with the catalog titles and Best Buy isn't even advertising this DVD.

Maybe I'll tack it onto my next DVD Empire order as I usually mix it up between them & DDD.

I think I'll give DDD until after Xmas to resolve this since my viewing is backlogged anyway. I do like DDD price & service, so hopefully I won't need to cancel.

Maybe if they hear from more custmers they'll straighten it out?

Let me know if you call them about it and hear anything.

Just received my copy today from DVD Empire, so the 12/18 release date is legit.

I just checked the status of my order, and DDD has my ship date as 12/18/01 (tomorrow), so I won't be cancelling my order. I then did a title search and it is now listed with a release date of 12/18/01 as well. I guess they pulled the heads out of the arses.

You got my hopes up.

I just checked my order status and the expected ship date is still listed as 2/19/02.

When I looked up the individual title they list the street date as 12/18/ 2002.

I hope they fix this soon....

Yeah, you're right about it listed as 2002 on the title search. Just to ease your worries, my order status list it as shipping ~12/18/01. I'd call tomorrow and confirm that your copy did in fact ship out as that is when it is due for release at every other distribution outlet.

Mine also shows a ship date of ~12/18/01. Still has 12/18/02 date on the title page.

This is the first time I've used DDD (other DVDs in the order too). Not off to a good start.

We did have a delay with our shipment of War of the Roses. We received a partial shipment on 12/19. We were able to ship most of those orders the same day via First Class Mail. We are expecting to receive another shipment on 12/21. The remaining orders will also be upgraded to First Class Mail. Most of you should have your copy by 12/24.

When I talked to a CSR on the phone last week, he told me that the disc isn;t expected in stock until 12/31.

So I''m not sure who to believe.

Either way, I don't have my disc yet.

Not only a problem with this, but I preordered the Poseidon Adventure (12/18 release). They sent a shipping notice on 12/12 - 2 weeks and it still has not arrived.

Well it finally shipped on 12/29. It's about friggin' time. Of course I probably won't see it for 2 weeks (considering that's how long my last shipment from them took).

I FINALLY got a shipping notice from them for this DVD.

Now all I am waiting for is "The Lover"-- a pre-order which was released on 12/11 and I have been waiting for shipment on. The back order now shows it's supposed to ship by 1/4, but that keep sgetting pushed back for some reason.
