Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Ugh, I was up by like 25 going into Monday night and lost by .5 in my friends league. I had Kareem Hunt on my bench in that league. Won every other matchup at least.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

According to the scoring at NFL.com's fantasy leagues, I lost by 6.5 points.

However, it shows A.J. Green had 0.00 points in our scoring+yardage league. Based on game stats, he should have scored 7.40 for my team and given me the victory.

One of the stat monkeys at NFL.com must be playing against a team with him

It's official, David Johnson having surgery, headed to IR, likely with designation to return. Probably out 8-12 weeks.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Went 5-0 thanks to Hill/Gillislee/Hunt since most of my 1st to 4th rounders decided not to show up this week. Don't feel great if I have to rely on them to carry my team each week. I also lost David Johnson in one league, which is my weakest team out of the 5.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

I went 5-2. Not bad for week one. I lost in my auction league with OBJ, Ajayi, and Desean Jackson out. I also had Kenny Golladay starting, but benched him. It wouldn't have won the game for me if I had started him though. I also lost in my TD league at work. None of my starters scored....

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Pulled the hat trick and went 3-0.

Won league 1 137-74 behind Hunt, Antonio Brown, and Panthers D. Allen Robinson was my fourth WR, and Hunter Henry let me down.

Won league 2 ugly, 66.7-56.1. My kicker scored 12 and my D scored 3, and everyone else was between 6 and 9.3--consistency! I lost Kevin White and Woodhead, though I do have an IR slot for the latter.

Won league 3 118.0-47.2 (projected 123.64-119.75) behind Tyreek Hill, Melvin Gordon, and Zeke. I actually didn't have any injuries but still need to upgrade the roster.

Color me shocked. Cards do re-sign Chris Johnson.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

The only team I had complete control over all of my draft picks, with no technical problems, won in a blowout. So I'm going to consider that the only team reflective of my fantasy football abilities this year

The team I thought would be a powerhouse (with Cam, DJ, Zeke, CJA, OBJ, KAllen, KBenjamin, Olsen) scored the fewest points I've ever seen for one of my own teams It's looking like a really long year.

Still not sure which way to go for a FA RB pickup (Cohen or Kerwynn). Leaning Cohen, but best case he's still the low end of a RBBC (barring injury to Howard). The Cards just look like a mess, and Kerwynn doesn't seem like a "carry the load" type of guy. Though the other Cards RBs look pretty dreadful.

And even though I don't have an IR slot, I feel like I have to hold on to David Johnson. If he comes back in 8 weeks, that's in time for stretch run and fantasy playoffs. Plus, this is a keeper league (keep 2) and he'd be too tempting for another team to pick up for keeper purposes for next year.

On the flip side, if you're in a redraft league and someone drops David Johnson ... is that a no-brainer waiver claim? Or is the length of the time out (up to 12 weeks) and the fact that the Cards may not feel a rush to bring him back this season if their record is poor enough to keep you away for now (unless you have a bench spot to burn)?

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

I think you hold onto Johnson just in case he comes back for the playoffs or longer.

I'm just not a fan of Yahoo's interface. Waiver priority is unclear, top available players seems wonky and varies between web and app, etc.

It almost seems worth it to struggle week 1 to get a waiver priority for that first FA shot, even though there don't seem to be any world-beaters this week. And it's not like it's worth throwing a game. Maybe just consider it a silver lining for putting forth your best effort in week 1 and losing. I'm pretty sure I'm too low to get anyone I want so I feel like I should just see what's left after all the initial claims go through.

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

If anyone plays at Yahoo what is your lifetime winning percentage?

I have been playing since 2007 and managed 64 teams and I have a 63% winning percentage with a record of 514-296-2 and 29 trophies.

Now I just jinxed myself and will never win again and all my teams will be inflicted with injuries.

I've managed 26 teams with a .572 winning percentage.

And I've still not won a single championship.

I just noticed that today. I have seven teams with a lifetime record of 47-48 and two trophies.

Where do you find that? I only see a "performance" rating and trophies.

I don't have an IR and I'm holding onto DJ for now. He was my number one pick, and as long as there's a chance, I'll waste a roster spot on him.

It's at the top of your team roster page in the middle. The header is "SKILL LEVEL".

9 Teams
53-42 Record
.558 Winning Percentage
1 Trophy Won

My percentage is dragged down, by having a bunch of poor teams in the DvdTalk free league. I won my only championship by less than 2 points.

Teams Managed: 19
Lifetime Record: 118-113-0
Lifetime Winning %: .511
Trophies Won: 5

My 12 team IDP/ppr league and 14 team 3WR/no flex is bringing my lifetime record down, those are my toughest leagues.

So I need a current team (which I don't have) to see this?

Then again, maybe the best strategy is to win your first game 67-56. I actually got Kerwin Williams in that league. Although I'll probably be dropping him in a month.

That just seems like a statistical anomaly. Maybe you'll win two leagues this year!

Re: Fantasy Football Talk 2017

Well, looks like I got Tarik Cohen in every league (and someone else picked up Kerwynn Williams). Now watch Kerwynn emerge to be the waiver wire pickup of the year! And it looks like I'm streaming the Ravens DST in all but one league, so at least for one week I'm a big Ravens fan

David Johnson did get dropped in one league. Not sure I want to pick him up though. That team is awfully weak at RB. That's the team that ESPN autodraft prevented me from any RBs until mid-draft. So I loaded up on weak RB1s, PPR-value guys, and handcuffs. My RBs (don't laugh) are Bilal Powell, CJA, Tevin Coleman, James White, Derrick Henry, and now Tarik Cohen (dropped McFadden for him). PPR does seem more forgiving to those stuck with mid/late round RBs. Still tempting to drop low man on my WR totem pole, Zay Jones, for DJ. That still leaves me with Michael Thomas, Mike Evans, Tyreek Hill, Thielen, and John Brown in a PPR league where I only have to start 2 WRs (though I'm using a WR in the flex spot for now).

In a different league (non PPR), who do you like best for an Allen Robinson replacement: one of the other Jags (Marquis Lee or Hurns), Kenny Golladay, or Cooper Kupp?
