Speaking of which, 6th homer for Bellinger
I saw that homer live!

I also got a Kenley Jansen bobblehead that is yours if you want it.

I found Dodgers stadium to be better than Angels stadium. Dodger's fans were into the game (reminded me of Oakland A's games) whereas at the Angel's game, more people were cheering for Detroit than for the Angels

These games immediately slow down once the parade of relief pitchers begins.

They definitely need a pitch clock . However, like I mentioned it seems like the games really slow down in the late innings. Why not for starters use the pitch clock starting the seventh inning.
The Yankees and Red Sox have been the two teams most behind these extra-long games. They introduced the culture of every hitter stepping out of the box for every pitch. It seems to have started in the late 1990s. Watch an old game from the 1980s and hitters would almost never step out.

It's the hitters far more than pitchers delaying games.

Jake Arrietta is hiding an injury, I have no doubt. For about 18 months he was the most unhittable pitcher on the planet and then something happened. Since he's a free agent at the end of the year, he's covering it up before he gets his big payday.

I bet the team that signs him will regret it.

Arrieta's numbers began to decline the second half of last season.

I wouldn't be surprised by a Jake injury. I suppose I wouldn't be shocked by steroids either, but it sure would suck. I'm pretty sure the Cubs aren't planning to re-sign him, and he's making it a lot easier on them both from a baseball angle and a PR angle.

The Mariners are a really wounded team right now, but that didn't stop them from winning a number of games before playing Toronto. But their rotation is such a mess that they need to outslug people to have a chance.
At this point, I'll take the wins no matter who they are David.

I mentioned before I watched a game where Sparky Lyle of the Phillies,as soon as he got the ball back from the catcher he was ready to pitch.

Looks like the hitters are back to working the count. The Orioles are doing this. Very frustrating watching the pitcher and catcher play catch while the hitter stands there and doesn't swing at hittable pitches and then swings and misses at pitches in the dirt.

Makes the not signing Jake to an extension look pretty good at this point .. that said, hopefully he kicks it in gear and pitches at least decent the rest of the year
