Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

Even though the elite teams are still stacked in the West, it's good to have a year where I don't feel like the 9th and 10th team in the West should've made the playoffs over the dregs of the East. I actually would watch all of these matchups except perhaps Spurs Grizzlies.

I voted Celtics. It's a Cinderella Carl Spackler-like story!

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

Clips Jazz will be good too.

I think the Bucks may upset the Raps.

I think any lower seed has a chance of winning with the exception of Portland.

Spurs in 5 against the Grizzlies. Tony Allen has been ruled out indefinitely with a strained calf. Parsons has been out for awhile, and he won't play in the playoffs, either.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

Tough game for the pacers, clean look to win at the buzzer, but Paul George needs to have the ball in his hand for that shot.

I was not expecting the Bucks to blow out the Raptors.

Darnit Clippers. You're telling me Gobert goes down in the first and you're still going to lose this game? Crawford just laying bricks. And Blake is invisible this half. It's like he gets the defensive rebound and then just isn't seen from again.

Wow Isaiah Thomas's sister killed in a car crash. 22 years old. Geez.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

And you let Joe Johnson go against Crawford there? Why is Crawford still out there? I realize it was a continuation of the previous play but I didn't want him taking the shot on offense anyway.

Johnson playing like the Clippers hoped Paul Pierce would play for them in the playoffs when they signed him.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

That was a good comparison of coaching styles between the Cavs-Pacers and the Jazz-Clippers games there in the final seconds. McMillan chooses to call a timeout before the final play and that allows the Cavs to set their defense which ends with Miles forcing a tough shot instead of George having the ball and they lose. Snyder doesn't call a timeout and Johnson gets a run at the rim and wins the game with a floater.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

The timeout/no timeout thing at the end of games is always funny to me since hindsight always wins out depending on how it unfolds.

Cavs had a foul to give, though, and they used it right after the 20 second timeout anyway.

Harden playing like he's on my daily fantasy team. Oh wait he is. Air ball city.

Harden 1-7, Westbrook 1-6 so far.

Jefferson didn't intentionally foul though it was mentioned on the broadcast.

Ah, interesting. But if they needed to they could have fouled to reset their defensive lineup, right? In that case calling a timeout favors the offense, I think, to call a play. Certainly Doc would have done it to get Crawford off the floor.

Maybe training your bigs to give up rebounds to your guards wasn't the smartest thing to do for OKC.

Did Lebron really sign off on that crying baby commercial?

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

Wow Fizdale just went off on the refs. Huge fine incoming. He's kinda right, though it wouldn't change the series outcome, but Kawhi shooting more free throws than the entire Grizzlies squad of non jump shooters...

Take that for data indeed. I've got bad news, though, they are going to rook him in five games. The Griz are just always ravaged with injuries come playoff time, even with even officiating they just don't have enough. I give them a ton of credit too, they came back with a fury despite their lack of scoring and the officiating.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

No wonder the Cavaliers didn't care about the first seed in the East. They were going to get home court advantage in the E.C.F. regardless.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

Man Boston down double digits in the fourth here.

And it's pretty much over, as is the series. Man I feel for Thomas. Despite what I said earlier about whether he's worth a max, I'd like to see them max him in a couple of years and for him to pull through for them, no matter who they draft.

Rondo and Lopez playing out of their minds right now. Rondo's revenge.

Re: 2017 NBA Playoffs

Boston reminds me of the Bulls from Rose's MVP year. That year the Heat put Lebron on Rose and the Bulls offense sputtered. Same thing here when the Bulls put Butler on Thomas.
