Bob Knight said he never rooted for anyone as hard as he rooted for Duke, because the Fab Five winning anything "would've been a disgrace."

Re: College Hoops Postseason 2017 (NCAAs, NIT, etc.)

Halftime. Flyers 29-27. Phew, what a half. I'm breathing a little bit now, but there's another 20:00 to play, and (wow) those Shockers are good.

I'm amazed at how well Dayton has been able to hold Wichita St's scoring down, and at how they've been able to play man-on-man so well with such a fast team. The Flyer D has never played anyone like this this year and they've held their own. If Wichita concentrates in the 2nd half on neutralizing Scootchie they might be able to take over the game, since Dayton's O has been pretty much 1-Dimensional so far.

If you've not been watching 1H, you should watch 2H...even if Dayton falls apart and the Shockers roll.

Now this is my kind of Kansas basketball game.

Won't be this easy going forward, but I like to see the guys hit their shots. That is a good sign; they seem much more focused.

'Grats Shockers. Well done. Go deep this year.

I'm expecting one of these two coaches - Gregg Marshall or Archie Miller - will be a finalist for a job here in Bloomington next year.

You do realize the more teams that advance make more money for the conference right? The Big12 isn't really a cash flow right now. A few years ago people were wondering why KU wasn't being considered for any power conference when the league was on the verge of folding. It's because basketball doesn't bring revenue like football does and we know what KU football brings to the table.

I know it's hard for KU basketball fans to understand but KU isn't the money powerhouse they think it is. If those of us who want to keep the conference together (cause although I'm an Arizona bb fan, I have roots in KS) we need money coming in.

In football every team from the conference that makes a bowl and gets money shares it with other teams in the conference whether they made a bowl or not. Therefore, cheering for the conference. Do you want KU playing in the power 5 conference or the MAC? Like it or Not NCAA is all about the money. Believe me, schools like Kansas and Kansas St. will be left on the chopping block. Nobody wants the Midwest teams. No real revenue.

Lame 1st round. No real upsets, lots of blowouts. Yawn. Hopefully tomorrow fares better.

Ummm... they're the second most profitable basketball school in the land(3 years running) and have only dropped out of the top 5 once in the last eight years. For reference, they sit at $30m a year, and trail Louisville(5 years* consecutive at numero uno) by a healthy $15m, and Kentucky comes in third.

*coincides with the Yum! Center's birth. Also as the article points out, the Cards may have taken a hit this past year with strippergate...so Kansas, theoretically, could be sitting at #1 right now. Although, $15m is a large gap to gain ground on.

Great weekend for Huggy Bear and WVU. Lesson is...don't fall behind early to WVU. I'll take solace in the fact that Bucknell played them better than the Irish did. Funny thing is their press really wasn't that big of a factor -- got a few steals/turnovers in both games but they killed Bucknell on the boards on Thursday and played very good offense and half-court D today. Going to be a tough out.

Yeah... I was gonna post a standings update, but the only big change was you plummeting from 2nd to 7th.

A lot of basketball left to play. Plenty of time for me to catch you still.

I really thought Notre Dame would be able to handle their pressure considering their entire rotation is basically guards and wings.

I haven't kept up with Huggins since he left Cinci, what was up with that post game interview? Never mind he clearly wanted no part of it, but he looked and sounded like he'd been on a 24 hour bender and was ready to crash.

Ummm....I guess my point got lost in translation. Sure their bb program brings in some good revenue but bb isn't the revenue stream that conferences are looking for.

The question from Decker was why should I root for anyone in the same conference as KU on the national scope? I tried to give a little insight. I obviously failed. Carry on.
