Directv Regional Sports Fee

Did anyone get their newest Directv bill yet?

I just got mine and low and behold, Directv has raised their regional sports fee to $7.29 here in Southern California. WTF???

I'm sure the price varies by region, but did anyone else get their fee raised?

It was most recently $4.93, but has slowly gone up. I remember when it was roughly $2.50 when it was instigated.

I know we have FS West, Prime Ticket, and the Lakers network Spectrum Sportsnet. We don't even get fucking Pac-12 Network and the Dodgers network Spectrum Sportsnet LA.

We have 3 local RSN's here in LA on Directv, but I don't see how that justifies the increase.

Yeah, that's ridiculous, you can't even consistently get the two best football teams and the two best basketball teams in the city (USC and UCLA) consistently because of the lack of the PAC 12.

Re: Directv Regional Sports Fee

I went from $0 to $4.53. That plus the increased package price made my bill go up almost $10 per month.

I responded by downgrading my programming package and saving $30 a month over the new prices.

3.63 to 5.44 (Wash DC RSNs - CSN & MASN).

Is it just me, or are the discounts for current subscribers almost non existent since the merger? For the first time in a while I'm thinking of just outright cancelling and going to *gasp* cable.

I've been calling every 6 months and have successfully gotten credits for HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Starz along with the Sports Pack (even though I never watch any of those RSN's) I get roughly an extra $30-35 off my bill. But then again, Directv just recently raised their prices.

I've had them since 2003, but it's getting very expensive. Thankfully I still make enough money where I can still afford it.

Keeping this sports related, it would be hard losing access to Spectrum Sportsnet for Lakers if I had to seek another alternative. I don't think any of the current streaming skinny bundles carries it. Dish Network doesn't even carry it due to the high cost.

Verizon charges $4.99 per month in my area for the RSNs.

http://awfulannouncing.com/tech/dire...e-credits.html

According to this, Directv has been getting complaints about the RSN fee and how the cost varies by region. Apparently they claim the whole system is broken and will be issuing some credits....to whom, I have no clue. No further details given.

Seriously though, if Hulu Live's infrastructure is somewhat decent with a cloud DVR, decent channels/add-ons, I may consider bolting Directv and going with them. I've been with Directv since 2003, but it seems like it just keeps getting more expensive every year.
