Favorite Super Bowl?

So was the 2017, SB 51, the best ever?

I remember the Titans/Rams for many reasons, but thought it was a great game. Last nights New England win was amazing and exciting. It was like wham!

Your best or favorite?

Re: Favorite Super Bowl?

Funny...my first thought was the Titans/Rams game as well. I wouldn't put last night's game anywhere close. It was actually pretty boring till the Falcons OC decided to check out of the game with some of the dumbest play calls I've ever seen.

Gonna vote for Titans-Rams as well. But I'm biased as hell.

NY Giants shocking and crushing the dreams the undefeated 18-0 Patriots with the help of that amazing David Tyree catch. That was an unforgettable game.

Titans v Rams game for me too. Always the first one that comes to my mind (in relation to my age, 32, and when I started liking football)

Pretty sure a lot of them could be eliminated pretty quickly.

Fixed

All jokes aside, this was my favorite Super Bowl, as I appreciated it more at my age when it happened over Super Bowl XXV, which was also a great game.

Re: Favorite Super Bowl?

For me the most memorable, and therefor favorite, was Super Bowl XXV. Wide Right! Probably more memorable since I was pulling for the Bills. But it was also an incredible game from beginning to end.

My favourite are the Steelers SB wins. It's hard to narrow it down to a single one though - there are so many to choose from.

Re: Favorite Super Bowl?

Just curious what makes it the Titans-Rams for so many people. The Steve McNair factor (his story and awesome season) was really all I remember.

The final play of the game! With six seconds remaining, the Titans were trailing by a touchdown and had one last opportunity to tie the game. Dyson (Titans player) was tackled and the ball was inches away from the end zone to tie the game and go to OT!

Re: Favorite Super Bowl?

Gotta be SB 17 in 1983 for me. Redskins and Dolphins, rematch of the 1972 perfect season SB, Redskins trailing in the 4th quarter facing fourth down, greatest run in SB history.

This would probably be my answer (although part of it was carryover excitement from the ridiculously good NFC Championship game).

Honorable mention goes to SB XXXVI, which was Brady's first win. I was at a party in the house of a rabid Pats fan and most of the attendees were part of a local Boston native enclave here in DC. Needless to say, not very many of us thought the Pats would actually win. It was a remarkable night.

That's a good list. My favorite is and always will be SB32 - Broncos 31, Packers 24, because Elway finally won the Super Bowl after so many painful failures. Plus it was a fantastic game to boot.

My Eagles have never won a Superbowl, so I don't have a favorite one yet.

Many pundits had said that a high-octane offense like the Rams couldn't win a Super Bowl. People forget that NFL football had largely been about the ground game and defense for decades before the Rams won. That Rams team finally won with an average defense and what was then a tricky, modern offense that abandoned traditional running schemes.

What's funny is that the league changed soon after and virtually every team now runs some variation of what those Rams teams did.

All of the high-flying offenses of the past (Kelly's Bills, Marino's Dolphins, Moon's Oilers, Elway before TD) had failed to win Super Bowls before them.
