Shanahan will not take it either. He would rather wait until next year when he will have his choice of jobs.

This makes it three years in a row the 49ers have botched their head coach. Idiots.

On the bright side, it's not like they're locked into a head coach for more than a year.

Complete and utter bullshit. Every line of it. Chargers looked at ZERO other options. They wanted Downtown and nothing else. They even went as far as to have the city spend a shitload of money on an environmental study for the Mission valley location only to turn it down the day after it was done. They wasted millions of tax payer money knowing they would shoot down everything except Downtown.

Fuck Spanos and Fuck Goodell for that lame letter by his secretary.

Re: 2017 NFL Off-Season Thread

They should have known that L.A. didn't want that team. For over 20 years they were the only team in Southern California, a mere two hours south and yet nobody north of Southern Orange County liked the team and nobody traveled to the games except once a year dressed in Silver & Black. Now the Chargers want to be L.A.'s team? No way, no how.

I expect more L.A. fans to trek to Vegas eight times a year than go to Chargers home games.

Chip Kelly is interviewing for the Jags OC position.

Man, he really wants to stay in the NFL. He really should take a year off after the disastrous year he had with the 49ers.

I would think he would be better served to be available for any college jobs that come up. But we all know he would leave in the middle of a season for the right job. Kelly is all about Kelly.

While that is almost certainly true, let's be fair and admit that any NFL OC or DC would jump when offered the chance to be a Power 5 College Head Coach unless:

1) He thinks he's in line for an NFL Head Coaching position (and that ain't Chip)
or
2) That Power 5 college is The University of Kansas.

Re: 2017 NFL Off-Season Thread

If Tom Cable gets the Niner job I am becoming a Raiders fan lol.

How in the world is he under consideration when no other team is interested.

He also beats women and the Niners want a thug coaching their team? I have a feeling he is probably going to get the job.

Kelly is Vince Lombardi compared to him.

Rob Ryan is interviewing for the Redskins DC opening.

Daniel Snyder would be a fucking moron to hire that guy. Ryan doesn't make defenses better.

With his history its a shock that hes even getting an interview. Abuse allegations from 2 ex wives and a former GF. He also broke an assistant coaches jaw during training camp when he was the Raiders HC.

Yay. All Chargers games will be carried on local TV. I was hoping we'd at least get to see more of a variety of games with them out of town.

I'm sticking with RedZone, apparently.

Jed York almost single handedly made the 49ers into the worst organization in the nfl.I mean even our rivals feel sorry for the 9er players and fans.

Also agree about Shanahan. But why do they have Cable as next choice?
Wonder who he picks for GM?They just interview A few head guys from the Seahawks.

I'm sure a moving company from Los Angeles won't have any issues helping with the move.

Definitely, but http://wewontmoveyouchargers.com shows that a bunch of LA movers are also onboard.

Yea, but it's all pointless.. someone will move them anyway.

I bet these movers won't have issues moving stuff for murderers, paedophiles, etc...and don't protest many of the injustices that occur every day... but a team wants to move to another city? - oh, we have to take a stand now! If we don't, society will crumble!

Re: 2017 NFL Off-Season Thread

Maybe find a L.A. based mover. But funny nonetheless.

49ers will offer it to Shanahan after Sunday's game.
