50 seasons.

It's time for the Curse of Scotty Bowman to end.

I will avoid watching the NBC Sports Network like the plague.

Thank God for Hockey Night in Canada,NHL TV and NHL Center Ice.

I have their record album from 1968-69 season. Dan Kelly doing the play-by-play. I think that was the year Red Berensen scored 6 goals in a game.

It's too bad that there aren't many complete video of games from that time period featuring the original 6 expansion teams.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

The injury Buffalo Sabres star Jack Eichel sustained in practice Wednesday will keep him out for at least the month of October.

Eichel has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, and TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie says the Sabres have set a loose four-to-six week timeline for recovery - though it could be longer.

Andersen was brutal.

I actually felt bad for Matthews in the post game interview. Gets 4 goals and has to apologize for the loss

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

I thought the Leafs were bad with pregame BS, but its 40 minutes past the start time for the Flames/Oilers and they still haven't dropped the fucking puck.

Nice of the Hawks to help out with that own goal at the end.

Blues 5-2. On to Minnesota.

Seems like a good time to quote Cliff Fletcher:

“DRAFT SCHMAFT".

He's on pace for 324 goals this year.

That was the Sens with all the pregame stuff, but I agree. It seemed an eternity. Introducing players that aren't playing in that game? Yawn...

Matthews was fantastic. I'm looking forward to this season, but they better fix that goaltending. There were definitely some soft goals.

Quick went down with a lower body injury. Probably groin again.

Sucks.

Canadian TV ratings will be interesting for Saturday night(HNIC Bos @ Tor). Its too bad the Blue Jays game is at 408 pm and if they played at night the Leafs and Blue Jays would have gone head-to-head.

In case you missed last night's broadcast:

Setup: The Blues had just scored an empty-netter to go up 4-2 a few moments before, but Chicago kept their goalie benched in a last-ditch attempt to level the score. Ummm.... it didn't work.
