I was thinking the same thing. The fact he even gets the shot off is pretty impressive though.

I believe CuJo is playing for the Leafs in their game on the same day.

Jamal Mayers is suiting up for the Blackhawks. Ouch.

ETA: Didn't realize he works on their broadcast.

I bet half of the Blackhawks fans don't even know who is on their roster:

Quote:
Blackhawks
Adrian Aucoin
Murray Bannerman
Adam Burish
Kyle Calder
Daniel Carcillo
Jim Cummins
Eric Daze
Ben Eager
Reggie Kerr
Steve Konroyd
Dave Mackey
Jamal Mayers
Grant Mulvey
Troy Murray
Brian Noonan
Jack O'Callahan
Darren Pang
Steve Poapst
Reid Simpson
Brent Sopel
Gary Suter

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Hossa has really found the fountain of youth so far this season ... I missed most of the first 12 or so games due to the Cubs .. but man, he looks really good out there compared to last year.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Blackhawks come back from 3-0 to Vancouver to tie the game. Toews scores in OT, Van challenges and it's ruled Hjalmorsson was offside so no goal. Then Hossa scores and it's game over

It's a shame the Canucks suck now, this would have been much more satisfying 5 years ago

Times in a row the Habs have beaten the Leafs. Even trolling Leafs fans is getting boring.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Today's the Day!

The name, logo and colors for the Las Vegas "Something" Knights will be revealed in Toshiba Plaza, outside the T-Mobile Arena today at 6:00 PM. It will stream live on www.nhl.com . I sincerely hope that I will be considerably less disappointed than the last time I was eagerly awaiting an announcement on a Tuesday afternoon in November. I don't want to have to buy and wear something hideous to every home game for years to come.

Shirts and hats will be available immediately for purchase. Unfortunately, the jerseys won't be for sale until late Spring of next year. I guess Adidas is taking over the official gear production from Reebok and doesn't have their manufacturing capabilities up yet. I suppose there's no point in Reebok making a Vegas Knights jersey if they'll never be making them for the team.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Biggest win for the Sharks last night at 4-0. They still haven't scored more than 4 in a game though, but hopefully this is the start of something good.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Brent Burns signs an extension with the Sharks. 8 years at ~$8M AAV. Glad he's locked up, but that seems a couple years too long, given that he'll be 32 when it starts.

Are you going down there? I thought about, but I'll probably just watch it on TV

Wish I could, but I'm way up in the Northwest and it would take a while to get there with end-of-day traffic. I'll get my gear soon enough. I will stream the announcement.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

I like Golden Knights. I'm sure by fans they will just get called Knights, like Leafs, Hawks and Wings.

Not sure about the logo. Have to see it as a jersey.

I like it. Clean, not busy. Prominent V for Vegas in the helmet. Why Golden over Silver I don't know. Golden State = California, Silver State = Nevada. Of course they may have wanted to stay away from Silver & Black to distance themselves from the Las Vegas Raiders (and the L. A. Kings). Have to pick up some merch soon...

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

The one thing that I know I don't like is that they're the Vegas Golden Knights instead of the Las Vegas Golden Knights. I get wanting to emphasize the V in the logo, but that's like calling a team the Cincy Bengals or the Indy Colts. It sounds wrong even if that's what folks call the city when they're talking about it.

With apologies to you, David Bowie and Nicolai Tesla, I'm taking the logo as my Avatar for a while.

Fine with me, I'm still a Kings fan for now anyway.

The logo is also going to be a face painters dream. I can hardly wait to see the first guy with a "V" on his face.

So the first time a Vegas player sprays a goalie with ice, will that be a Golden shower?

This is Las Vegas. The first guy to come here to get a "V" on his face was a long, long time ago.

In case anyone is interested:

Quote:
30% off at NHL.com at least today and tomorrow. If you wanted to get a Winter Classic jersey or any associated swag, now would be the time, since it's all included in the sale.

Vegas stuff isn't.
