Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Good start for the Sharks last night. They always seem to win their opener.

5 game road trip coming up. Hope they're as good on the road as they were last year.

Blues 3, Wild 2

Like Joe Nuxhall used to say, you can't win 'em all if you don't win the first two.

On to Rangers.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

According to the HF Boards,NBC Sports Network will show the Leafs home opener tonight(10-15-16) against Boston. I think it was originally scheduled for the NHL Network. Looks like I will have to watch the inbetween period shows on HNIC because NBC Sports Network are clueless with between period programming.

It was about time that the Leafs finally retire some numbers and they got a win too.

Matthews was fantastic. I'm looking forward to this season, but they better fix that goaltending. There were definitely some soft goals.
Andersen is not the answer in net although he had a much better game yesterday. They look like they have a promising team but those heartbreaking losses could stop their progress.

Re: NHL Regular Season Thread - 2016/17 Edition

Hawks won but another ugly game. They coughed up a 4-0 lead to let the Flyers tie it. Sure they eventually won 7-4 but it's hard to feel like it was a "win". I expect them to be a low seed this year if they make the playoffs at all.
