Still enjoying the Mane signing.

Not happy with Klopp's use of the subs today. Far too late.

And still annoyed that Phil didn't score.

So after only three matches, the "big" three are the only ones with 9 points.

Hate the international breaks, especially so early in the season.

Should be an interesting Manchester derby.

Have have Leicester next at home, finally.

Re: The all-inclusive 2016-17 football/futbal/fußball/voetbal/calcio/soccer thread

This probably isn't big news, but it's something you don't see very often:

Nottingham Forest winger Oliver Burke has become the most expensive Scottish player ever in joining Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for a fee of about £13m.

The 19-year-old, who has signed a five-year contract with the German team, scored in the 3-1 victory over Leeds United on Saturday.

It was the youth team team product's fourth goal for Forest this season.

Rare to see a British player leaving the island.

Every time I watch Ter Stegen play I want to grab him by the shoulders and shake him til he wakes up from this fantasy he is ... YOU ARE NOT A DAMN FIELD PLAYER!

While he may have the best foot skills of any keeper around he screws it up so many times its not funny. He is going to cost Barca games this year that is a fact.

Stop f'ing around with the ball you dumbass.

I miss Bravo already.

By the way, lautern only have two out of 12 points to open the season. Hope it turns around for them, for your sake.

Don't sweat it too much. Yes, he is going to make mistakes every now and then, but he is already better than Bravo. He was yesterday, gaffe included.

Quiet day for us as the transfer window closed.

Shipped out some dead wood.

Still didn't get a left back. I would have been happy getting Arbeloa back. Best of luck to him as a Hammer.

Surprised to see David Luis back at Chelsea. Also who's going to feed the ball to all of the strikers at Leicester.

So much about Messi not playing for the National team. He's playing and scored in their qualifying game against Uruguay.

I don't enjoy these weekends with the big leagues shut down.

Don't really care about qualifiers for the 2018 WC.

Guess I'll follow Notts County's match with Grimsby.

Landon Donovan is ending his retirement and returning to the LA Galaxy, the team confirmed on Thursday.

The 34-year-old Donovan played his last competitive match in the Galaxy's MLS Cup win over the New England Revolution in December 2014.

Capped 157 times by the United States men's national team, Donovan is Major League Soccer's all-time leading scorer with 313.

In some programming news that matters, Bayern visit Schalke today at 2:30 EST. FoxSports1 has the match. One of the few times to root for Bayern.

Tomorrow at 6:55 AM EST, Celtic host Rangers in the renewed rivalry, also on FS1 in the states. Perhaps watch the first half and then tune into that Manchester derby that some are excited about.

Gladbach on FS2 @ 9:30 but leipzig and Dortmund go at 12:30, also on FS2.

You can then finish up the day with Barcelona and Alavés @ 2:30 EST, on BEIN.

Not sure about the BuLi in Canada, but Celtic-Ranger match is on Sportsnet World up north.

I'll be watching the Glasgow Derby. Have to catch it online though, since I don't get Sportsnet World.

Oh, and of course our first home match vs Leicester.

Well shit, I am not going to my football game tomorrow due to storm and a non-competitive game, but I just realised it is on at 3:30 which really screws up my viewing schedule. Will now have to watch Barcelona tomorrow evening. Perhaps I will flip between Liverpool and Dortmund, since that block of time is now open. Always have Juve as well.

Schalke deservedat least a point today, but as usual Bayern comes away with all three. The Royal Blues couldn't finish their chances in the first half when they were ascendant. Goretzka looked really good. For Bayern, it was all about their subs, Vidal, Costa, and Kimmich. 2-0 final in an entertaining match.

Wonderful second goal from Dembele of Celtic. Rangers pull one back just before half, 2-1 Celtic.

Meanwhile, the first 30 minutes of the Manchester derby show why Pogba was grossly overpaid for, and why Ibra is, especially now, a flat track bully.

Decent first half at Celtic Park.

Rangers fortunate with a late goal to get back in it.
