Re: The all-inclusive 2016-17 football/futbal/fußball/voetbal/calcio/soccer thread

i turned the station briefly after Mane's goal and missed Arsenal's goal. Just what the hell is going on here? It's great though.

One thing for certain, this isn't going to happen against Conte's Chelsea.

And how long until Xhaka picks up his first card?

Played amazing for 25 min. We have a great team.

Need shot of Simon and Moreno though.

This is the first time since 1953-54 in the English top flight that the two top from the previous season have both lost their opening game.

4 fouls in 24 minutes. More than any other player in the PL this week. Granted, some was because his lack of fitness/game pace, but this is going to be the norm.

A much better second half leads to a fairly easy 2-0 Barca win in the first leg of the Super Cup.

Denis Suarez and Lucas Digne were both very good after they subbed on.

Oh, and Luis Suarez and Messi were themselves.

How was Costa still on the field to score yesterday's winner?

Re: The all-inclusive 2016-17 football/futbal/fußball/voetbal/calcio/soccer thread

Blackburn defender Shane Duffy scored two own goals in six first-half minutes before being sent off as the Sky Bet Championship's bottom club lost 2-1 at Cardiff.

Duffy also scored an own goal at Wigan on Saturday - meaning he had put the ball past Blackburn goalkeeper Jason Steele three times in under an hour's football - to become rather bizarrely the Championship's joint top scorer.

His misery was complete when he was sent off in the dying seconds, the frustrated Republic of Ireland defender received a second yellow card for kicking the ball away.

Good Irish lad

Re: The all-inclusive 2016-17 football/futbal/fußball/voetbal/calcio/soccer thread

Liverpool's Sadio Mane is a doubt for this weekend's trip to Burnley after scans revealed he sustained a muscle injury in training, a club source has told ESPN FC.

Mane was taken to hospital for tests on his shoulder on Wednesday afternoon after he collided with a player during a training session at Melwood.

However, the results of the scan revealed that the 24-year-old has only suffered a muscle injury in the collision and did not dislocate his shoulder, which will serve as a boost to manager Jurgen Klopp.

Okay, we'll spot them that one.

I hate the EA graphics on the broadcasts this season.
