Outside of a few games, September isn't particularly good for college football matchups in general.

Really not looking forward to the new Fox Soccer daily. The talent isn't inspiring, and the time of day is just atrocious. 4:00 in the afternoon. What the hell is that. Likely won't have many replays of the show either. Plus, no more Sara Davis. Not good.

The USGA just signed a 12 year deal with FOX Sports. All USGA events will now be on FOX and also have coverage on FOX Sports 1.

re: The One and Only FOX Sports and FS1 Thread

In the out of nowhere dept FOX just won the USGA rights starting in 2015. This includes the US Open/Womens Open/Senior/Amateur. 12 year deal.

This cuts NBC completely out of the majors.

Gus Johnson on golf. That could be worse than Berman.

re: The One and Only FOX Sports and FS1 Thread

Not sure how many Hockey Fans there are here, but I kinda of wish the NHL TV rights were up this year instead of a few years ago, as I would have rather seen them goto FOX rather then NBCSportnetwork

Fox is atleast having 24/7 programming of actual sports, and producing a Sportscenter every night, so they are atleast looking for a loyal audience each night. NBCSportNetwork has no Sportcenter each night, and alot of infommercials during the late night/day as they have no loyal following except during Hockey season.

The NBA TV rights are up in 2015-16 (but the bidding for the new contract will start this year) and I wonder if FOX will go after them big time to steal some programming from ESPN & TNT.

re: The One and Only FOX Sports and FS1 Thread

I think NBC does a great job with hockey. Certainly better than when FOX had the NHL in the late 90s. I couldn't care less if they don't have a sportscenter (rarely up that late) or infomercials during the day (when I'm at work). Doesn't impact how I view the NHL.

NBC does a great job with all their sports properties with one glaring exception.

I don't know about FOX and the NBA but I expect them to put in a very aggressive bid for the Big Ten, which is the next major property coming up for bid.

I watched the Aussie Rules Football championship a year or so ago after having not seen it in ages and was totally disappointed that the scoring referees no longer wear pith helmets.

re: The One and Only FOX Sports and FS1 Thread

So I'm going through my channel guide which just updated for Saturday, and it looks like I'm in an interesting are with Time Warner and these new channels.

Right now it looks like this: TWC has not made a deal with FOX for Fox Sports 1. On Saturday, we have the schedule for the new Speed, which is a 6 hour loop of reality shows and car auctions.

However, Fuel TV has the new Fox Sports 2 schedule, including the rugby, UFC and racing events. But Fuel TV is on the Sports tier, and it's not in HD on my system anyway.

So that's kind of funny, we're getting FS2 (in SD on the sports tier), but not FS1.

FOX made an offer to Greg Norman to be their USGA analyst.

I just checked on the 17th as well for Directv and indeed it's the Speed loop with all reality shows for FS1.

And just like you Fuel HD has the listings for FS2. If FOX doesn't make a deal for FS1, I doubt that FS2 will be available.

I guess FOX Soccer doesn't officially go off the air yet. They have listings for a bunch of old games and FOX Soccer News. I guess they don't officially go off the air until FXX launches.

re: The One and Only FOX Sports and FS1 Thread

Don't most channels before they go off the air have a separate feed running the old branding for some time after their "official" launch? I seem to remember this happening when Ovation took over for IMF. I had Dish Network at the time and still got IMF well after Ovation started airing their programming, maybe a couple of months or so. The IMF feed was looped on a 6 hour schedule of the same stuff the entire time.
