The injury concerns continue--Jay went on the DL, Beltran still not back in the lineup and Craig has a hamstring issue.

That player deserves a suspension but the ump does too. That goes to integrity and he showed he has none.

If we suspended umps for calling a pitch that was slightly outside the strike zone as a strike, we'd have no umpires.

Except that ump was clearly trying to show up the hitter and make a statement.

I actually believe that's probably the case, but PitchFX showed that the called 3rd strike was a borderline pitch. Hard to really get too pissed about a call that could have gone either way.

A smarter hitter would realize the ump was squeezing him and wouldn't let a borderline pitch get by.
