The San Diego Union Tribune said he shot himself in the heart.

If that blurb about the suicide note is true, he must have been really depressed or out of mind to say his brain needs to be studied. Willie McGinest said on NFL Network that he attended a USC shin dig a few weeks ago with him and he seemed fine.

I don't know alot of about the symptoms of depression, but I guess some people are pretty good at hiding it.

Actually, from what i've seen TMZ is pretty accurate about things like this.

TMZ was the 1st to report the Michael Jackson death.

But having worked in live sports TV for the last 12 years and knowing alot of the Producers at NFL Network, they won't report news off a source like TMZ. They would need a more official source like the AP or a team release.

Just saw the clip of his Mom's press conference. That was incredibly sad to see.

I have mixed feelings about suicide. Obviously Seau had issues, but IMO it's such an incredibly selfish act. If his brain was all fucked up, he should have gotten help.

Really sad news. Article I read said Dave Duerson shot himself in the chest rather than the head so his brain could be studied so this could be a similar thought.

Coinciding with the bounty suspensions is another sobering thought.

Yeah, he was at USC's spring football game three weeks ago. He was smiling and taking pictures with players and fans. It's crazy to think he's gone. As a lifelong fan of Trojan and Charger football this one hits close to home. I hope people look at this and the aftermath and seek out the help they need if they're in a dark place.

I've seen quite a few comparisons to Duerson already. I guess that explains why he shot himself in the chest and not head which was curious to me.
