Kirk Gibson,

You are a good manager, but sometimes you outhink yourself. Walking a guy to face Hanley Ramirez in the bottom of the 9th with 2 on was absurd.

Signed,
A fan

Man, that throw to the plate by Harper was sick.

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Matt Kemp is hot. After the Nats bullpen blew a 2-run 9th inning lead, Kemp led off the 10th with a walk-off home run.

Just go ahead and give the guy the MVP.

I'm very happy he's not coming to Minnesota.

Sad, but true.

Pujols is 0-3 again. Trout is 0-7 his first two games. The Angels have scored about 11 runs their last six games.

I think Anaheim is where offense and good hitters go to die.

Garcia yanked from the rotation. Apparently recording fewer outs (5) than runs allowed (6) is not a good thing.

Hard to believe the Yankees have a shot at going 5-3 against Boston/Texas/Detroit with a win today with the starting pitching they have been getting.

You haven't seen the Phillies this year yet.

So far today after six Garza has "retired" every batter to come to the plate.

Re: MLB Weekend, April 28-29, 2012

Pujols finishes the day 0-4, and is now batting .216.

I never thought my first game of the year on Tuesday night, after 23 games (assuming he doesn't homer tomorrow) Pujols would not have a homer yet.

He's not even making contact now. Was he juicing? How can you be so good six months ago, and all your career and then just absolutely be terrible? This is making the Vernon Wells deal seem like a bargain.

I hear the rumors he's older than he says he is, or he is struggling to get to know AL pitching, and oh it's only April, but come on. Pretty sad that you associate Albert Friggin Pujols with an automatic out nowadays.

I'm sure Cards fans are smiling, but you guys offered him a deal, too, did you not? It's not like you passed knowing he was turning to shit.

Someone tell me what is going on here.

Even though I was at the game and it would have been cool to see, realistically he wasn't going to go all 9. He was already around 100 pitches in the 7th and I couldn't see him finishing the game. The win was more important.

Notice who didn't close. Maybe they left Thornton since it would lefty on lefty for Gonzalez and Ortiz. Either way, nice to avoid the 4 game sweep and break the losing streak.
